Stand in the Place Where You Are

And right now, that is El Dorado Hills, California, where I have burrowed into a hillside in a rental home with an enchanted garden. This blog is an exercise in being in the here and now, because life is short and it is ongoing while I wait for the real estate bubble in Sacramento to deflate. Sometimes, even when you are obsessed with the bubble, you just need a place to kick back and reflect on life. This is the Bubbleholics Anonymous of the Greater Sacramento Area.

My SigOther wanted to make me a Red Velvet Cake for my birthday. He was horrified that it requires 2 oz of Red Food Coloring, but I finally convinced him that we would survive this and that it would not be Red Velvet Cake if you didn't put in the dye.
We tool on over to Raley's off EDH Blvd. and they are totally out of the 1 oz large bottles of red food coloring. The very helpful stocker told us that this is likely because everyone is buying it to make hummingbird food. She says they always run out.
So, we will make a Blue Velvet Cake instead, ala David Lynch. Cue evocative music.
